New Delhi: Finance Minister P. Chidambaram, on Friday, gave away the CII President's award to Tata Group Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata for his remarkable contribution to industry and national building.
While comparing the industrialist to Sachin Tendulkar, Chidambaram said legends like Ratan Tata and Sachin Tendulkar don't retire "They just move on to doing different things."
The finance minister said that he admires Tata for being a man of few words and his frugal lifestyle.
He also added that there is a lesson for all industry groups to take from what he has established.
The award has been given to Mr. Tata for “redefining the Indian business model from individualisation to institutionalisation, from profit to community transformation and sustainability, for setting the highest standards of ethics.”
