New Delhi: Sony India is riding high on its Xperia range of smartphones. The company says the sales of sales of Sony's Xperia smartphones grew five times between April and August, as against the year-ago period. As a result, Sony's smartphone business now accounts for a fourth of the company's revenues. A big contributing factor is because of its successful premium models such as the Xperia Z series and the sub-Rs 10,000 models such as Xperia Tipo and Xperia E.
In India, the company is planning to set up a chain of 200 standalone Xperia stores on the franchisee model by the end of this fiscal to showcase its smartphone range.
