New Delhi: India's leading automaker Hero Motocorp has unveiled a diesel scooter concept in India, called Hero RNT.
Hero RNT – the first ever hybrid diesel scooter in the country – comes with a 150cc engine that boasts peak power of an impressive 13.5bhp @4000 rpm, and a 35Nm of peak torque at an ultra low 1600 rpm. Going by the specs, Hero RNT, would also come with an impressive load carrying capacity. The engine is mated with a six-speed constant mesh transmission.
The scooter weighs 136kg, has a fuel tank capacity of 6 liters and manages to do a 0-60km/g sprint in 5 seconds. The speed is, however, limited to just 70 kmph. The stopping power is assisted by disk brakes, with a 300mm rotor and multi piston caliper up front and a 220mm rotor with single piston caliper at the rear.
Suspension facilities include are 37mm telescopic forks and a swing arm at rear with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers.
The vehicle gets its hybrid power through a 16 cell li-ion, 500CCA, 12 amp, dry cell technology batter, which can be mounted in any direction.
